Workshop on Spoken Sanskrit and IT Tools for Learning Sanskrit at DEI

K.    laLd`-IT 2013 (August 5-19, 2013) :
Workshop on Spoken Sanskrit and IT Tools for Learning Sanskrit

Sanskrit can be aptly called as the “language of consciousness”, because it opens the door to India's rich spiritual literature. Sanskrit, the primary language of communication in ancient India, lives on in modern India, in one form or another, in the various widely spoken Indian languages that have descended from it. As DEI looks forward to expanding its Language Labs to introduce modern ICT teaching techniques for more and more languages, Sanskrit as the mother of most Indian languages has its pride of place in this endeavour. DEI Department of Sanskrit, which had been conducting workshops for teaching day-to-day communication in Sanskrit over the years and Centre for Consciousness Studies jointly conducted a two-week Workshop on Spoken Sanskrit and ICT Tools for Learning Sanskrit (laLd`-IT 2013). Valedictory Talk was delivered by Dr. P. Ramanujan, Associate Director, Indian Heritage and Language Computing Group, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bangalore. The Course Coordinator was complimented with the words, laLd`rlEHkk"k.k dk;Z'kkyk v/;kfidk vfrizoh.kkA (Sanskrit Workshop Instructress is highly proficient).
